Several local police agencies will work overtime and join the Texas Department of Public Safety to curb drinking and driving statewide.

The crackdown starts next week and is part of the annual "Drink. Drive. Go To Jail." campaign.

According to the TexasDWI.org website, Texas leads the nation in drunk driving crashes and fatalities and that's why thousands of state troopers and local law officers across Texas are stepping up patrols and arresting drunk drivers.

The campaign continues through Labor Day.
