Coyotes Displaying Aggressive Behavior in North Fort Worth Neighborhood According to Residents

"You hear screeching, laughing, or what ever sound they make. You know it's coyotes."

Residents in a north Fort Worth neighborhood say coyotes are dangerously close to homes, businesses and restaurants.

The area near the Alliance Town Center continues to grow. Behind the hustle and bustle of the town center, sits an empty field, which is currently under development.

"They tend to hang out toward the water" Stephen Baker said.

Baker lives in an apartment complex near the Alliance Town Center and referred to a man-made pond near a dog park.

"There's a bunch of empty fields where construction is going on, so I think it's moving them this way," Baker said. "You hear screeching, laughing, or what ever sound they make. You know it's coyotes."

Pet owners are finding way to protect themselves and their dogs.

"I got pepper spray and bear spray," Jackie Miller said. "I know I can't handle four to six coyotes, so I can only imagine what my dog would go through. I'd hate for something bad to happen."

Miller's neighbor Jarom Wall said the aggressive behavior displayed by the coyotes are becoming more of an issue.

"They were just loud as heck. They were all together and they were just looking at us," Wall said. "They weren't scared of us. I was considering the next day to buy a weapon."

Neighbors said the coyotes haven't attacked people or pets, but they're taking extra precautions at all times of the day.
