American Airlines Cancels Brussels Flights Through Thursday

All crew members, employees safe in Belgium, American Airlines says

American Airlines has canceled all flights to and from Brussels for Wednesday and Thursday.

Fort Worth-based American says all of its airport employees and crew members in Belgium are safe and accounted for, with no injuries, after two explosive devices were detonated in the check-in zone at Brussels Airport and a metro station early Tuesday morning killing 31 and injuring scores of others.

American operates at Row 8 of the departure hall and the explosions did not occur in that area.

"American Airlines extends its deepest sympathies and condolences to those affected by the tragic events in Brussels earlier today. American is taking care of employees and customers at Brussels Airport," the airline said in a statement.

Tuesday's AA Flight 751 from Brussels to Philadelphia was canceled; Flight 750, from Philadelphia to Brussels, was not scheduled for Tuesday.

"When operations at the Brussels airport resume, we will re-accommodate our customers on available flights," the airline said in a statement.
