Officers say a man entered a 7-Eleven store in the 300 block of North Marsalis Avenue at about 1:05 a.m. on July 28. (On Thursday afternoon, Dallas police released surveillance video of the man.)

He walked up to the counter to make a purchase. Police say when the store clerk opened the cash register to complete the transaction, the man leaned in and tried to grab cash from the drawer.

When the clerk attempted to shut the cash drawer, officers say the man bit her on the arm, then punched her in the face.

The man then fled the store with cash. He got into the passenger side of a white Mitsubishi SUV and the driver pulled away.

The man is described as black, 25 to 35 years of age. He's 6-feet, one-inch tall and weighs 250 pounds. He was wearing a red T-shirt, black shorts and red Nike tennis shoes.

A description of the man driving the white SUV was not provided by police.

The SUV had a sunroof and no front license plate.
