2 Border Patrol Agents Injured in Rio Grande Boat Collision

Officials say two U.S. Border Patrol agents were injured after being ejected from their boat when it collided with another boat in the Rio Grande.

The McAllen Monitor reports that the male agents were taken to local hospitals following the Sunday evening crash. Agency spokesman Oscar Saldana said Monday that both men are in stable condition.

Officials said one agent is having surgery after breaking his leg.

Officials said that the crash happened when a Mexican boat veered in front of the agents' boat. The crash is still under investigation.
