Two Bodies Found Floating in Two Separate Dallas Creeks

Two bodies were found floating in two different Dallas creeks Sunday morning, police say.

A witness called police at 11:26 a.m. Sunday morning after noticing a body floating in a creek near the 5700 block of Scyene Road.[[434832503, R]]

Just 13 minutes later, officers responded to a call in the 3000 block of Rochester Street where a second body was also reported floating in a creek.

The two scenes are about five miles apart.

Dallas police said the body found near Rochester Street is a white female. They are investigating this as a homicide, but have not said how she died. So far no identity has been released.

Extra Dallas police officers patrolled around Rochester Lake and the surrounding park Sunday afternoon. For park-goers and police, it was an unusually quiet scene at an area that is normally crowded on summer Sunday afternoons.

"Peace of mind, that's what I come down here for," said Ursula Jones, a frequent visitor. "Everybody is enjoying themselves, having a good time, trying to stay cool."

Dallas police have not released any information on the body found along Scyene Road.

Investigators encourage anyone with information about either of the crimes to call Crime Stoppers at 214-373-TIPS.
