Health officials in Denton County confirmed Friday their seventh flu-related death of the season.

Officials have not yet released any information about the patient other than that he or she was an adult.

After reporting a downward trend in flu activity last week, the DCHD said there were 50 positive influenza tests and two hospitalizations this week. Last week, when the county reported the sixth death of the season, they reported 75 new cases of influenza and six hospitalizations.

Influenza activity in Denton County is now at a moderate level.
