Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has been openly ambivalent about the idea of drafting a quarterback, but the team’s list of pre-draft visit suggests the interest in finally addressing the position is real.

The team has six quarterbacks lined up to visit Valley Ranch before this month’s draft, according to Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas, ranging from surefire first rounders Carson Wentz, Jared Goff and Paxton Lynch to possible early- to mid-rounders Christian Hackenberg, Connor Cook and Jacoby Brissett.

They’ve also had extended contact with Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott, who was coached by Jason Garrett and co. at the Senior Bowl and has worked out for quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson in Starkville.

The Cowboys’ need for a backup quarterback/quarterback of the future came into focus in 2015 as Tony Romo missed 12 games with two collarbone fractures, and Dallas went 1-11 in his absence.
