New Cowboy Cedric Thornton Becoming a Fixture at Valley Ranch

Thornton signed a four-year, $17 million deal with the Cowboys three weeks ago

It hasn’t quite been a month since defensive tackle Cedric Thornton signed a four-year, $17 million deal with the Dallas Cowboys, and Thornton is already becoming a fixture at Valley Ranch, where a number of players have been working out ahead of the beginning of the official offseason workout program.

“Just to get here and know the routine the guys got going on, just to get a feel, being around the players, it lets the other players know that you’re all in,” Thornton said, per Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas. “I’ve been here like three weeks now, going on four, so I’m definitely getting in shape. I like the Dallas weather besides the allergies and the humid climate. It’s pretty good.”

Interestingly enough, Thornton has been working out with a group of guys he battled directly as recently as last year as a member of the Eagles, in offensive linemen La’el Collins, Zack Martin, Travis Frederick and Doug Free.

“All work and no kind of play time,” Thornton said. “But I’m pretty much enjoying it, getting to know the guys and working out with the guys.”
