Michael Irvin Settles 2007 Lawsuit

Hall of Fame wide receiver and Dallas Cowboys’ legend Michael Irvin settled a lawsuit from 2007 on Friday, filed by a woman who claimed to have been sexually assaulted by Irvin at a hotel four years ago.
The settlement, the terms of which are confidential, was announced last week following a hearing in front of a federal judge in Miami. According to the Dallas Morning News, Irvin represented himself but was not present at the hearing last week; the woman’s attorney declined comment.

In the lawsuit, filed last year, the woman claimed to have been assaulted by Irvin at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in July of 2007. Prosecutors opted against filing charges after reviewing the case.

U.S. District Judge Marcia Cooke must still approve the settlement.
