Gurode Scratched From Pro Bowl

For around 8 hours, the Dallas Cowboys had seven representatives slated to go to Miami as members of the NFC Pro Bowl team next week. Well, easy come, easy go, I suppose.

Center Andre Gurode backed out of participation today, the result of arthroscopic knee surgery to clean up a right knee injury.

Gurode was voted in as part of the original six Cowboys headed to Miami, as the NFC's starting center. With Terence Newman announced to replace Arizona's Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, who injured his knee last week against New Orleans, Dallas' Pro Bowl representatives grew to seven.

Given the capricious nature of chosen Pro Bowl representatives, one can never be certain, but there is still a chance that corner Mike Jenkins could be added as a replacement for Minnesota's Antoine Winfield.

Winfield is dealing with a foot injury, and, beyond that, could be ruled out due to a Super Bowl appearance, should the Vikings win. Some believe Jenkins, not Newman, should have been the replacement for Rodgers-Cromartie, but that's neither here nor there.

And aside from that, I can't for the life of me think of anyone I know who watches the Pro Bowl.
