NBC 5 Forecast: Watching the dry line for storm chances on Monday

Rollercoaster temperatures are ahead for North Texas this week

NBC Universal, Inc.

Patchy dense fog is possible for the morning commute. Use caution for travel. By the afternoon and evening, there is a chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm. While this activity will be spotty, any storm that does develop could turn severe. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main concerns.

This week looks drier and hotter with high temperatures ranging from the mid-80s to the lower-90s. Heat index values could climb into the mid to upper-90s, Tuesday and Wednesday.

A springtime cold front will drop highs into the 70s and lows into the 50s and 60s. This cool down will happen just in time for the Mother's Day holiday weekend.
