A Dallas-based education company is buying online learning firm Class.com for $4.5 million cash.
Cambium Learning Group announced the deal to buy the Lincoln, Neb., based Class.com on Thursday.
Class.com develops tools and curriculum to help deliver online courses for students in junior high and high school. It has about 30 employees who design and teach the courses.
Cambium CEO Ron Klausner says this deal will help his firm expand in the high school market and add more tools to help struggling students. Cambium is based in Dallas.
The deal is expected to close in October.
