UCF Routs Southern Methodist 70-45

Jermaine Taylor scored 16 of his 22 points in the first half as Central Florida rolled to a 70-45 victory over Southern Methodist on Wednesday night.

Central Florida (14-6, 4-2 Conference USA) posted its fourth consecutive victory, and is 13-0 when scoring 70 or more points this season. The Knights held the Mustangs to 29.8 percent shooting (26 for 61) and outrebounded Southern Methodist 46-32.

A.J. Tyler added 10 points and 11 rebounds for Central Florida and A.J. Rompza finished with 11 assists.

SMU (6-12, 1-5) remained winless on the road this season (0-7). Derek Williams led the Mustangs with 17 points.

Central Florida raced to a 17-2 lead in the first 7 minutes. The Mustangs cut the lead to seven on a basket by Bamba Fall with 5:47 remaining in the first half, but the Knights used a 14-4 run to lead 40-23 at the break.
