Texas Center Out for Kansas Game

Freshman to start in first game

Texas junior center Chris Hall will miss Saturday's game at Kansas after spraining his left knee in practice.

Trainer Kenny Boyd says Hall was injured Tuesday. There's no timetable for his return.

After the Kansas game, Texas has 11 days off before playing rival Texas A&M on Thanksgiving night.

The injury to one of the team's top linemen creates a problem for Texas in trying to protect quarterback Colt McCoy.

Hall's primary backup, Buck Burnette, left the team last week after posting a racial slur about President-elect Barack Obama on a social networking Web site.

Freshman David Snow will get his first start in Hall's place. Hall had started 22 of the past 23 games at various positions on the line.
