Texas Athletes Eye Vancouver Olympics

The Winter Olympics in Vancouver, B.C., are only one year away and many Texas athletes are in the hunt for spots on Team USA.

Among them are:

John Baldwin Pairs figure skater born in Dallas.  Baldwin recently proposed to skating partner Rene Inoue. 

Kevin Ellis Skeleton slider from Dallas.  Ellis competed in the 2006 Torino Olympics. 

Todd Hays Bobsledder from Del Rio.  Hays won a silver medal at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. 

Chad Hedrick:  Speed skater from Houston.  Hedrick won gold, silver and bronze medals at the 2006 Torino Olympics.

Shane Hook:  Luger from Grapevine.  Hook, 18, is one of America's top up-and-coming sliders.

Jordan Malone:  Short track speed skater from Denton.  Malone is a 14-time World Champion inline skater who is now on ice.

Angela Maxwell:  Figure skater from Dallas.  Maxwell finished 8th at this year's National Championships.

Charlotte Maxwell:  Pairs figure skater from Dallas.  Maxwell and partner Nick Traxler finished 9th at this year's National Championships.

Nick Myers:  Curling athlete from Fort Worth.  Myers has already earned a spot at the Olympic Trials in Denver.

David Walby:  Luger from Keller. Walby, 17, is one of America's top up-and-coming luge athletes.

Several Dallas Stars hockey players may also vie for a spot on Team USA.  However, the team roster won't be announced until December.
