Longtime Cowboys secondary coach Jerome Henderson wrapped up a series of interviews with teams last week without a head coaching job, or even a coordinator job, but he is moving on from Dallas.
With his contract with the Cowboys expiring, Henderson will accept the role of defensive passing game coordinator with the Atlanta Falcons.
Henderson had been in Dallas since 2012. He interviewed for both the Cleveland Browns’ head coaching job and the Jacksonville Jaguars’ defensive coordinator position this offseason, and word was he would only leave if he got a promotion. In Atlanta, he may not have received a huge promotion, but he got a cool new title.

According to Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Cowboys are not expected to fill the vacancy left by Henderson internally, and are “wide open” in their search.
