The long wait is finally over, kind of.
It was announced on Wednesday that the NFL will unveil the 2010 schedule on Tuesday, April 20 at 6:00 CST.
This is about a week later than normal, and only two days before the first ever primetime draft.
Reasons for the delay are unknown; the highlights of the schedule--Thanksgiving Day games, primetime games, etc--were supposed to be announced separately last month at the spring meetings in Orlando.
However, the NFL balked, pushing the announcement back a day, then balked again, allowing only that the schedule wasn't ready yet. Now, the "highlights" of the season will be unveiled with the lowlights and everything in between.
Tuesday's announcement will be accompanied by a special program on the NFL Network.
