Robbie Ross' hitless innings streak didn't extend any longer on Thursday after he pitched five no-hit innings in an emergency start last week against Houston.
While his streak didn't last very long, neither did Ross.
Ross was lifted in the second inning after allowing seven straight hitters to reach base with two outs, which resulted in an early 6-0 hole for the Rangers, who ended up losing the game 10-2 to drop their sixth straight game.
Ouch, Robbie.
The outing did nothing to add any confidence to the Rangers that Ross could somehow be a starter again, and why they continue to experiment with the idea is beyond me. But the five no-hit innings in his last start might've given them some false hope. Now, you assume those hopes are all dashed.
Ross now has a career 3.17 ERA as a reliever and a 4.94 ERA as a starter.
