Romo Returns to Valley Ranch for Farewell Meetings

Just three days after surgery, Tony Romo was back at Valley Ranch for the end-of-season meeting

Just three days after undergoing surgery to repair a herniated disk, Tony Romo was back at Valley Ranch on Monday for the Cowboys’ end-of-season meetings. Romo’s best pal, Jason Witten, said that the team got a much-needed emotional boost from the starting quarterback’s presence.

That just speaks to what he is, going to find a way to come in, see the guys,” Witten said, per the Dallas Morning News. “It was obviously an emotional time. I thought it was great of him to come and be here and just share in this time. That was very stand-up of him to be here in the midst of the pain I’m sure he’s in.”

Both Witten and head coach Jason Garrett are confident that Romo will bounce back and be as good as ever in 2014, after undergoing two surgical procedures on his back over the last eight months.

“It’s been a tough eight months for him physically,” Witten said. “But I feel confident in him. I know what he’s made of. I know how he works, I know how he competes, I know how he trains. I’m confident he’ll come back. I know what he’s made of.”
