Anthony Rendon had four RBIs to help lead Rice to an 8-3 win over Baylor Sunday in the Houston College Classic.
Rendon had a three-run homer in the fifth, a sacrifice fly for another RBI in the seventh and scored on a single by Jess Buenger in the second. Brock Holt went 3-for-5 with one RBI for the Owls (5-2).
Joey Hainsfurther went 3-for-3 with two RBIs for the Bears (6-2). He singled in a run in the third and doubled in a run in the eighth before scoring on a single by Brooks Kimmey.
Starter Taylor Wall (2-1) got the win, allowing one run on three hits in 6 1-3 innings. Craig Fritsch (0-1) took the loss, giving up six runs on seven hits in five innings.
