Rangers Losing Despite Beltre Tear

Adrian Beltre has shown a tendency in his three-plus seasons with the Texas Rangers to carry a team on his back for stretches of time.

He's in the midst of one of those stretches now, but so far, the Rangers haven't taken advantage of it as Beltre has hit three home runs in the past two days — both losses to the Baltimore Orioles.

Over the past 19 games, Beltre is hitting .392 with a .438 on-base percentage, and now the power is starting to come along with it as he blasted two home runs on Wednesday night and accounted for all five of the Rangers' runs in a 6-5 loss. On Tuesday night, Beltre went 3-for-4 with a homer as the Rangers fell 8-3.

The Rangers have been waiting for Beltre to catch fire, and it appears he's doing just that. Now, the rest of the team needs to follow suit and ride their perennial MVP candidate to some victories.
