As you might remember, the then-St. Louis Rams visited the Dallas Cowboys in training camp last year in Oxnard, CA for a couple of days of joint practices. Itβs clear now that that visit was about more than just getting the players ready for the season.
Now the Los Angeles Rams again, the team has reached a tentative agreement with the City of Oxnard to hold their own mini-camp and organized team activities on the same fields they played on during their visit last year, according to Bob Buttitta of the Ventura County Star.
The deal will have the Rams renting the fields and attached locker rooms from mid-April to mid-June and will net the City of Oxnard around $86,000.
Itβs still unclear where the Rams will hold training camp. The Cowboys signed a deal last year to continue holding camp in Oxnard for three more years, after which they will presumably move camp to The Star facility in Frisco.
