Potential Target: Andrew Miller

In an ongoing series, we'll take a look at possible trade targets for the Texas Rangers this season.

Potential Target: Andrew Miller, LHP
2016 stats: 2-0, 0.96 ERA, 18⅔ innings, 6 saves, 33 strikeouts, 1 walk, 11 hits allowed

The Yankees just got embattled closer Aroldis Chapman back from a suspension to start the season after a domestic violence incident, and now Miller is settling into his role as the Yankees' setup man. He's part of a dominant bullpen trio for the Yankees, and the Yankees are a game below .500 chasing the Orioles and Red Sox, who are both 10 games over .500.

Miller could very well be available for the right price, and the Rangers have plenty to offer on both the minor-league level and even from the big club.

Plugging Miller into the closer's role for the Rangers would allow Sam Dyson, Matt Bush and Jake Diekman to thrive and shorten the game for what is the league's best rotation as far as ERA goes.

It'd take a haul to get him considering he's controllable through the 2018 season, but it could be a game-changer.
