Dirk Nowitzki has been named to the Western Conference's All-Star team for the eighth straight time, the NBA announced Thursday.
The Feb. 15 game in Phoenix will mark the forward's eighth straight appearance, more than any other playing in Mavericks' history.
Nowitzki said in statement that being named to the team is "always an honor."
"It is always exciting," he said. "It is an unbelievable experience, and I am thankful for the opportunity to represent the Dallas Mavericks in Phoenix."
Nowitzki will come off the bench for the West. Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Amare Stoudamire and Yao Ming make up the starting lineup.
Nowitzki is averaging team highs of 25.7 points and 8.4 rebounds. On. Jan. 17, he became the 55th player in NBA history to score 18,000 points.
