NBC 5 to Air ‘The Road to Canton, The Texas Class’

Join NBC 5 Sports Director Newy Scruggs and NBC 5 at Five Anchor Kris Gutierrez live from Canton, Ohio, for the "The Road to Canton, The Texas Class" at 6:30 p.m. Thursday on NBC 5.

It's been a long road to Canton for Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and LaDainian Tomlinson, former star running back at TCU and the San Diego Chargers, who are being inducted this weekend into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. NBC 5 Sports has your all-access pass to the Hall of Fame weekend.

NBC 5's "The Road to Canton, The Texas Class" takes a close-up look at two North Texas sports legends: Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys Owner, President and General Manager; and, LaDainian Tomlinson, NFL veteran and former TCU standout, both of whom will be formally enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame during ceremonies on Saturday in honor of their illustrious football careers.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has had a big impact on all of North Texas, including the businesses located close to AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

The program examines the accomplishments of Jones and Tomlinson and tells personal stories of the two men through revealing interviews and discussions with family, friends and former colleagues.

LaDainian Tomlinson's favorite player growing up was Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith. Now the TCU legend will forever be mentioned in the same breath as his idol. His road to Canton wasn't easy though, as NBC 5's Kris Gutierrez explains.

Meredith Land, NBC 5 News at 6 and 10 Anchor, and Pat Doney, NBC 5 Sports Anchor/Reporter will host the program from Dallas-Fort Worth.

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are Hall Of Fame ready. The arrived in Canton two days ago in preparation for the Hall of Fame game. Thursday and the induction of Jerry Jones into the Hall Of Fame Saturday night.
