Tight end Martellus Bennett returned to practice on Tuesday, after missing last week with a rib injury suffered in the overtime loss to Arizona.
Bennett has been a non-factor for the most part as a receiver this season, but he has earned a reputation around Valley Ranch for his abilities as a blocker--meaning that this might be good news for the run game, which was dealt a significant blow Sunday when DeMarco Murray went down for the year with a fractured ankle.
Tuesday’s workout was essentially a walk-through, for which players weren’t required to wear helmets.
Still, center Phil Costa (concussion), nose tackle Josh Brent (knee) and backup quarterback Jon Kitna (back) missed practice. DeMarcus Ware meanwhile, who has been slowed by a stinger of late, participated fully and is expected to play this weekend against the Bucs.
