Jenkins Aggravated Shoulder Injury In Loss

cornerback Mike Jenkins' season ended as it began--with a shoulder injury

Mike Jenkins 2011 season ended much the way it began: Suffering a shoulder injury at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Jenkins hurt his left shoulder in the regular season opener, a 27-24 loss to the Jets. He dislocated his right shoulder in the first meeting with the Giants last month, and on Sunday night, in the teams’ second and final meeting of the year, he aggravated the injury, putting a fitting bow on an injury-hampered year.

Jenkins was forced to miss most of training camp and the entire preseason with a stinger, and dealt with a knee injury and a hamstring injury that kept him out for a full month between the shoulder injuries.

At the end of his fourth season in the league, Jenkins said he was unsure if surgery would required on the shoulder.

"I hope not," he said, per the Dallas Morning News. "I am not trying to have my first one. Hopefully it's a process I can get through with time."
