Gallo Gets Recalled for Stretch Run

When Joey Gallo made his anticipated big-league debut back on June 2, it was one of the best scenes at Globe Life Park all season. The buzz was very real at the park that night, and Gallo sent everyone home happy that night with a smashing debut in a 15-2 win over the White Sox.

That night, Gallo went 3-for-4, scored three times and drove in four runs while falling just a triple shy of the cycle included a tape-measure home run to the upper deck in right field.

Gallo struggled for much of his month-long stint in the bigs, striking out way too often but he showed flashes and when he got a hold of one, it was often gone. He struggled with strikeouts for the past couple of months in Triple-A Round Rock, but he's back in Arlington now as part of the September roster expansion.

Three months after his debut, Gallo will be in the Rangers' dugout gaining valuable experience playing meaningful September baseball, and along the way he'll get a chance to provide a scary bat off the bench that pitchers have to respect because of his prodigious power alone.

Don't expect to see Gallo every day, or even every few days, but when you do see him, lock in because he's bound to give us something worth cheering for at some point.
