Dez: “My Mind is Focused on San Fran”

Dez Bryant is in no mood to discuss his contract status

Pro Bowl receiver Dez Bryant remains confident he’ll get a long-term deal from the Cowboys, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen anytime soon.

Bryant told reporters last week that he would break off contract talks for the duration of the regular season if a deal isn’t done by Week One. That self-imposed cut-off date is now three days away, but Bryant isn’t exactly watching the clock with his fingers crossed.

"My mind is focused on San Fran,
" Bryant said, per ESPN Dallas. "It's the only thing it's focused on. All the other stuff is going to take care of itself, I promise."

A week ago, Bryant met privately with owner and general manager Jerry Jones. From that meeting came reports that the two sides were still far apart on several issues, but Bryant says the talks were productive.

"Truthfully, it's been great talks," Bryant said. "But still, I'm not really into that right now. We got a game in a couple days."
