Cole Beasley Still Feels He Has “A Lot to Prove”

Beasley signed a four-year extension with the Cowboys this offseason

Cowboys receiver Cole Beasley is in a much more comfortable position than he was at this time three years ago, when he was preparing for his first ever NFL training camp as an undersized, undrafted free agent out of SMU. Going into his fourth season, Beasley has established himself in the Dallas offense, and just a few months earlier he was given a four-year extension worth more around $13.6 million.

But far from content with his body of work to this point, Beasley has maintained the scrappy, underdog mindset that arguably played a significant role in his rise in Dallas.

“It’s easy, because I still feel I have a lot to prove,” Beasley said in a recent interview with the team’s official website, via the Dallas Morning News. “I’m still kind of, I have minimal things that I’m doing right now and it can only increase.

“I’m just trying to do what I can to increase my role and open up the route inventory for me a little more and start getting more stuff down the field. So, I really have to prove myself in other areas so it’s really just all about improving and getting better for me.”
