Bailey Named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Dan Bailey scored 13 of the Cowboys' 19 points on Monday night

Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 13, for his 4-for-4 performance against the Washington Redskins on Monday night, which included the game-winning 54-yard field goal.

Bailey has now won the weekly honor three times since coming into the league, tying him with former kicker Billy Cundiff and former return man Dwayne Harris for the most Special Teams Player of the Week Awards in Cowboys history.

Sean Lee, who won NFC Defensive Player of the Week after Week 2, is the only other Cowboy to win Player of the Week honors this season.

The 54-yarder on Monday was Bailey’s 10th career game-winner.

We absolutely do not take him for granted,” head coach Jason Garrett said this week, per Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “He’s a great kicker and has been since he has been here. He’s been in that situation a number of times. Virtually every time he comes through. We are not afraid in any way to put him in that situation.”
