What It Takes to Eat Like a Ranger

The Balanced Meal Of North Texas Champions

OK Rangers fans, you're already dressing like the team and doing hand gestures like the team -- now you can eat like the players as well.

Amy Goodson is the sports dietician for the Texas Rangers and she's responsible for yanking the pizza and hot dogs from the clubhouse and replacing it with fish and grilled chicken.

Goodson said to eat like a Rangers player, you have to follow the three R's. Refuel, Rebuild and Rehydrate. That means eating a lot of whole grains and lean meats while taking in plenty of fluids. Goodson said no matter your level of activity, following these rules will keep your metabolism up.

β€œWhether you're an athlete or whether you're an everyday person, eating frequently and getting a variety of nutrient-rich foods at each meal or snack is going to help you stay energized through the course of a day," Goodson said.

Goodson also said snacking during the day is OK, as long as it's a balanced combination of protein and carbohydrates.
