Baseball legend Tony Gwynn was remembered Monday by Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig as "one of the most accomplished hitters that our game has ever known"
The former San Diego Padres outfielder, who died Monday at 54 after a battle with cancer, logged 3,141 hits in his 20-year career, for a batting average of .338.
Gwynn led the National League in batting eight times and won seven Silver Slugger Awards as the best hitter at his position. Here is a look at some of the Hall of Famer's milestone hits:
