Michael Crabtree's Free Football Camp Attracts 900 Young Players

Growing up in Dallas, Michael Crabtree didn't get to particiapte in youth football camps.  Opportunity was limited and NFL players didn't come back to run camps.

So, the Carter High School graduate decided to create that dream camp for Dallas-area kids.

For the fourth straight year, the Oakland Raiders wide receiver hosted a free camp that was coached by NFL stars.  Saturday's event was held at the Cotton Bowl.

"I started off with 90 kids, now I have 900.  We did all the ground work.  We did everything we should do, and it's getting bigger and bigger every year," proclaimed Crabtree.

Said can be said about the NFL players Crabtree is recruiting to coach at the camp.  Raiders Pro Bowl defensive end Khalil Mack joined in, as did Dallas native and Super Bowl MVP Von Miller.

"We're born and raised right here, right from the dirt.  And whenever you have someone like Crab giving back to the city like he is you got to be involved," said Miller.

"Michael Crabtree, it's all love being out here and supporting him.  Just getting a chance to see what he's doing for his community is a beautiful thing," said Mack.

"I got love for these kids, man.  I would do anything for them, because I was once one of these kids," said Crabtree.
