Kinnunen Named to CHL All-Star Lineup

Brahmas defenseman is all-star for second year.

The Texas Brahmas in conjunction with the Central Hockey League have announced that defenseman Justin Kinnunen has been named to the starting lineup in the CHL's 2008 All-Star game in Loveland, Colo., on Jan. 14.

This season, Kinnunen has proven to be an elite D-man as he is a +10, tied for a team best and has 15 points (5 G, 10 A).  Currently, the speedy blueliner sits at 92 assists in his career, eight short of 100.  This is the Negaunee, MI native's fifth professional year and second in the CHL.

Kinnunen returned to the Brahmas for the 2008-09 season following an exceptional year in 2007-08.  Kinnunen led all Brahmas defensemen in scoring (43 points: 11 G, 32 A) last year.

"We are very proud of Kinnunen representing the Brahmas in the game. It is great to see him get the recognition from around the league," said Brahmas head coach Dan Wildfong about the announcement.

Last season Kinnunen was the lone representative for the Brahmas in the CHL All-Star game.

The 2008 CHL All Star game plays under a new format this year with CHL All-Stars playing against the Colorado Eagles. Oklahoma City's head coach Doug Sauter and Odessa's coach Paul Gillis will be behind the bench for the All-Stars.
