Dirk's Annual Charity Baseball Game is This Saturday

One of the most loved Dallas Maverick’s basketball players is giving back to the community this weekend.

Dirk Nowitzki will hold his annual Heroes Celebrity Baseball Game on Saturday.

The game always brings out some big names, and it is all for a good cause.

Along with Nowitzki, some other big names playing at this year’s game include Dallas Cowboy Dez Bryant and former Texas Rangers infielder Michael Young. Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will be on the team, but confined to the dugout.

On Friday, all of those participating in the baseball game were at the stadium for a training camp.

All the money raised from Saturday’s game will go to the children’s charities of the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation and the Heroes Foundation.

Nowitzki said there are some challenges switching up sports and picking up a bat.

"Here's the problem. If I watch this sport on TV, I'm like, 'This is easy, and you just go up there and smash one.' Then I played the first time two years ago and it’s so far [the wall].  It's insane“

The game is scheduled for Saturday at Dr. Pepper Ballpark at 6:30 p.m.

There are still a few tickets available, but organizers are expecting it to sell out.  Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.
