Cats Score Late Again, Sweep Diablos

The trip home from El Paso will be much easier for the Fort Worth Cats than the trip out.

Trailing 5-2 heading to the 7th inning Thursday night, Fort Worth scored three in the top of the inning to tie it up. Then in the eighth, Kelley Gulledge was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, allowing Brian Fryer to trot across the plate with what proved to be the winning run as the Cats swept El Paso with a 6-5 win.  After a 1-3 start, the sweep moves Fort Worth to a 4-3 record as they head back home for a weekend series with Lincoln.

Gary Lee got the win in relief of starter Jason Fernandez, and Dustin Cameron earned his third save of the young season with a perfect 9th inning.

The Cats are back at LaGrave Field this weekend for a series against the Lincoln Saltdogs.  Friday and Saturday games begin at 7:05 p.m. and Sundayโ€™s game begins at 2:05 p.m.
