Better, Faster, Stronger the Johnson Way

They say time is money,  but for NFL hopefuls speed is money.

That's why former college football players travel to The Michael Johnson Performance Center in McKinney to get ready for the upcoming combine.

The former "worlds fastest man," Michael Johnson, opened his state of the art facility in 2007.

His philosophy is making people who come to see him faster and for those looking to impress NFL coaches, and scouts, speed is all that matters.

The list ranges from former college superstars like Dallas native and Texas Tech record setter Michael Crabtree to a lesser known player, like TCU running back Aaron Brown, who's just looking to improve on his speed enough to make a name for himself before Aprils NFL draft.

Most days start at around 8am, and usually last until around 6pm.

Johnson says it's not all about speed training, in addition to the running work, the players work on weights, proper nutrition, and sit in on mock interviews, all to prepare them for the rigors of combine week.

The success of the camp has taken off this year, after former Arkansas running back, and Oakland Raiders draft pick Darren McFadden ran the second fastest 40-time among running backs at last years combine.
