PETA is trying to get Marylanders to give up a beloved pastime and go vegan.
The animal advocacy group plastered a billboard near several seafood restaurants in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. PETA says it's part of a nationwide campaign to get seafood off people's plates.
The billboard shows a blue crab with the caption, "I'm ME, not MEAT. See the individual. Go vegan."

"Just like humans, crabs feel pain and fear, have unique personalities, and value their own lives," PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said in a press release.
The billboard is close to several seafood restaurants, including Phillips Seafood, Mo’s Fisherman’s Wharf, McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood & Steaks, The Oceanaire Seafood Room and Bubba Gump Shrimp Company.
The billboard will remain up through Sept. 15, the day of the Baltimore Seafood Festival.
