Twitter Video Shows 12 Ducklings Rescued From Suburban Sewer

The family of ducks were released back into the wild after the brief but feather-ruffling experience

Firefighters plucked 12 ducklings from a west suburban storm drain Thursday and video of the whole ordeal was shared on social media.

Twitter user Loriann Jean told NBC 5 she noticed a distressed mother duck in the 500 block of North Avenue in Glendale Heights, near Chicago.

โ€œWe saw this mommy duck circling the sewer, and we heard little chicks inside,โ€ she said.

The rescuers were able to reunited the mother duck with her dozen chirping babies. They told Loriann Jean they hadnโ€™t seen so many baby ducks in a storm drain in nearly 25 years of service, she said.

โ€œThank you to the Glendale heights firefighters,โ€ she added.
