This arrest photo provided by the Orange County, Fla., Sheriff's Office, on Monday, Jan. 4 shows Frederick Torres. Torres, a recently fired caricature artist at Universal Orlando Resort, tried to kill his manager.

A caricature artist at Universal Orlando Resort was charged with attempted murder after stabbing another artist in the head with a pair of scissors on New Year's day, authorities said.

Frederick Torres, 33, allegedly attacked Glenn Ferguson, 42, after confirming that he'd been fired from his job at the theme park, NBC affiliate WESH reported. He responded by telling his boss: "I'm going to kill your number one artist," the station reported, citing an affidavit.

A police report obtained by NBC News described a chaotic scene at the "Toon Lagoon" section of the park, where witnesses saw Torres chasing Ferguson on Friday morning.
