Woman Arrested, Accused of Shooting Ex in Stomach

A woman has been arrested, accused of shooting her ex-boyfriend in the stomach Monday morning in South Dallas, police say.

Police said officers were called to a shooting at about 8 a.m. on the 2600 block of Fatima Avenue where 48-year-old Dean Paden had been shot in the stomach.

Paden was transported to Baylor Medical Center Dallas in critical condition. His current condition is not known.

Witnesses told police Paden's ex-girlfriend, 51-year-old Sudedra Dunning, was seen leaving the residence after the shooting.

Investigators found her at a home on the 6200 block of Misty Wood at about 1:30 p.m. and arrested her on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (family violence), a first-degree felony.

Police said a weapon was recovered and Dunning is being held at Lew Sterrett Jail on a $50,000 bond.

Investigators have not yet revealed a motive in the shooting.
