Texas Politicians React to President Trump’s U.S. Supreme Court Nominee

When President Trump announced the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to fill the Supreme Court seat that will open after Justice Anthony Kennedy retires, reaction from Texas lawmakers came quickly.

Republicans, like Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, sided with the president's pick. Sen. John Cornyn and Sen. Ted Cruz were notably silent on Twitter after the president's announcement.
