Stars Looking to Get Power Play Back on Track in Minnesota

The Stars allowed two shorthanded goals in Saturday's loss to the Blackhawks

The power play has gone from being an asset to a liability for the Dallas Stars of late.

Over the team’s past eight games, they have netted three power play goals while allowing four shorthanded goals to the opposition. Two of those shorthanded goals came in Saturday night’s loss to the Blackhawks at the American Airlines Center, an embarrassing 5-1 affair.

"Those are killers," defenseman Alex Goligoski said after that game, per Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News. "Our special teams lost us the game. We just have to be better."

The good news is the Stars get another crack at cleaning the power play up on Tuesday as they take on the Wild in Minnesota.

"Everyone that's out there has to be better," Goligoski said. "It doesn't matter what combinations they're coming up with, we just have to find ways to get it done."
