Some Roads in Fort Hood Area to Close During Training

Some roads in the Fort Hood area will be closed for about two weeks during a training exercise called the Ironhorse Challenge.

Officials at the Central Texas post say the closures begin Wednesday. Civilian drivers can expect to see an increase in military vehicle traffic in the area.

Authorities say Old Georgetown Road will be closed through Aug. 25. All western exits off West Range Road will also be closed, but the road will remain open.

Fort Hood officials recommend civilian traffic use Highway 116 during the training exercise.
