The Denton County Sheriff's Office says an Alvord man was arrested Friday in connection with the slaying

Police say they've made an arrest in connection with the stabbing death of a woman whose body was found Sunday in a Denton creek.

Investigators with the Denton County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday that the death of 20-year-old Jade Monique Harris, of Ponder, is being investigated as a homicide.

The Denton County Sheriff's Office says Tanner L. Brock, 21, of Alvord, was taken into custody Friday.

The Denton Record Chronicle reports Brock is the Harris' ex-boyfriend.

Harris' body was found Nov. 3 by a group of people fishing in a creek near Farm-to-Market Road 2499, west of Ponder.

Brock is being held on $500,000 bond. It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
