San Angelo Man Gets 30 Years in 2015 Death of Bicyclist

Prosecutors say a West Texas man must serve 30 years in prison for the 2015 death of a bicyclist who was hit by a vehicle and shot.

Stephano Miguel Culbreath of San Angelo was sentenced Wednesday night a day after being convicted of murder. Prosecutors say 47-year-old Culbreath and 24-year-old David Titus were acquaintances.

Police say Titus in July 2015 was found dead on a San Angelo street. Culbreath was arrested a few hours later driving near the scene. Police have said Culbreath seemed preoccupied with the investigation and the bumper of his SUV had marks consistent with the bicycle.

The San Angelo Standard-Times reports Culbreath took the stand and denied allegations by prosecutors that he was a drug dealer. Culbreath acknowledged being a methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana user.
