Rangers Sell T-Shirts to Thank Team’s ‘Unsung Heroes’

Rangers fans had a pretty good night at Globe Life Park Thursday, watching their team earn a postseason berth. They're looking forward to an even better Friday, with the AL West title on the line.

While you can credit the team on the field for a lot of that excitement, some of the players say it all starts with the team that's in the stands, stores and parking lots each home game.

"We just wanted them to know we notice them and the hard work they've put in," said Rangers pitcher Shawn Tolleson. "And we thought it would be a fun way for the fans to get involved."

To express their thanks, the Rangers' pitching staff came up with the idea to sell a special T-shirt with their motto "Never Ever Quit" on it – then give all the proceeds to their seasonal employees.

"It means a lot," said Rebekah Skeete, who is one of those seasonal employees.

Skeete has been with the Rangers for five years now and works all home games in their east valet lot.

"We just endeavor to make sure that mantra that we have of service second to none is held true," said Skeete. "We treat the fans the way they want to be treated."

She admits the job can wear on her sometimes – but that it's well worth it to be part of the Rangers family.

She says she and other employees were completely caught off guard by the team's gesture.

"I respect it," said Skeete. "Because you don't have to do that. But I also appreciate it. It's always nice to get that pat on the back."

The shirts are available at the Majestic Grand Slam Shop at Globe Life Park and the team's store in Sundance Square. They're $36 each.
