Police Gain New Clues In 7-Year Mystery

Woman disappeared from DFW Airport 7 years ago

Police said they may know what happened to an elderly woman who disappeared from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport seven years ago.

Margie Dabney, 70, went missing after a layover at DFW Airport in 2001. Her family said she was suffering from Alzheimer's disease and was headed back home to California after visiting Indiana.

Police said they found personal items in Lewisville on Tuesday that they think belonged to Dabney.

"There's some clothing that was located that matched the description of the clothing she was last seen in, as well as one item that did have her name on it," Capt. Kevin Deaver said.

Skeletal remains were found south of the Lake Lewisville Dam about a year ago. Police will run DNA tests with Dabney's remaining family to confirm if the remains are hers.

Investigators said they do not know how Dabney died.
